Another Glorious afternoon saw Ripon Reds host Cadley who were looking to add to their great start to the season.
From the off Cadley aggressed and showed they were the dominant force. Williams was winning most things in midfield and was able to release Pitt and Rowland either side of him on the flanks. Houghton was linking up well up front holding the ball up and playing laying off some smart balls to his advancing midfielders. After many chances being thwarted by an excellent performance from the Ripon Keeper, some great unselfish play by Rowland and Houghton enabled Pitt to fire the ball home against his old club to give Cadley the lead.
After the break Ripon reds stepped up the attack and did go close but captain Smith leapt into the air and tipped the ball wide. Ripon continued to push but Nelson as ever was there in the heart of the defence to put pay to the opponents forward moves. Nugent was helping on the counter in his wing back role was providing an extra attacking option and was delivering some dangerous crosses into the Ripon box which almost had Rowland double the lead. The introduction of Culshaw and Ormsby brought a fresh approach to the Cadley attack and the ball was being passed around delightfully. Ormsby broke free on the right and was able to gift Culshaw an early pass and with some trickery round his marker to smash the into the net. 2-0 Cadley. Ripon again pushed on to try and recover some of the deficit and were unlucky not to but the game ended and Cadley came out deserved winners.
